Activities for December 2019

Welcome December!  We are going to use colors to create personalized holiday cards.  While working on our cards we will be learning about the different ways people celebrate the Holidays around the world. Read on for the details...

Steps

1) Design a holiday scene with a white crayon on a white paper
2) Use art sticks or watercolor pencils to color
3) Add details using watercolor markers and a black sharpie 
4) Glue the artwork on a folded red, green or blue paper

Activities for November 2019

November is here! During this month we are going to integrate Color Theory in our art work.  We are going to celebrate Native American Heritage Month and Thanksgiving by creating a Nature Protection Campaign.  We are also going to work on more poster contests.

Activities for October 2019

Hello October, hello fall! We are right in the middle of Hurricane Season which spans from June 1st to November 30th of each year.  We will be exploring how we can unite art and nature in a STEAM project.  We will also work on the Red Ribbon Week and Walk Safe Poster Contests. The Doodle for Google Contest is optional. Please check the "Gallery" section of this blog to view some of your work. October is going to blow you away!

How do you use STEAM in Architecture?

Introduction
Hurricane Dorian was one of the most powerful in recorded history, causing billions of dollars in damage and resulting in hundreds of fatalities. This served as a reminder that hurricane preparedness is essential when living in Florida. 
A STEAM project will be used as a tool in disaster preparedness by graphically representing the force of hurricane winds on a house or other structure.
