Activities for April 2022

 

Spring is upon us!  We are going to practice our drawing skills.  April starts with National Pet Month. We will be concentrating on drawing pets. We will also explore styles in figure drawing. Lastly, it's also time for the end-of-year testing.

Lesson 1 / Dates
March 28 – Apr 8

Activity
Create a drawing of a pet inspired by Phil HeckelsCassisus Marcellus Coolidge and Ed Attanasio's pet portraits for National Pet Month
Materials
- White paper
- Pencil
- Colored pencils or markers (optional)

Steps
1) Sketch your drawing with a black pencil
2) Color using complementary colors

April 11 – Apr 29 

Figure Drawings

Activity
Create a drawing of a child involved in a daily activity.  Use a different style for each week.

1) April 11-14 - Silhouette ( inspired by Bansky)
Or a Bunny and Egg

2) April 18 - 22 - Anime/Manga (inspired by Japanese Anime and Manga)

Materials

- White paper
- Pencil

Steps


1) Draw a child using one of these styles for each week:
    a) a silhouette style 
    b) a Manga style 
    c) an illustration style
2) Add details

3) Color (optiional)
