Activities for October 2022

Hello Fall! October brings a series of fun art activities. It’s all about pumpkins! We are first going to practice drawing pumpkins and practice value.  Afterward, we are going to celebrate the beginning of the Fall season by designing pumpkins inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s art. Finally, an optional activity is to create your own Halloween pumpkin mask. 

October is going to be fun!

We are first going to continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage month by finishing our Hispanic Museum Dioramas.  Afterwards, we are going to celebrate the beginning of the Fall season by designing Zentangle style art pieces. Finally, an optional activity is to create your own Halloween Mask. October is going to be fun!

Steps
1) Think of an original big idea
2) Choose paper’s orientation
3) Sketch idea paying attention to content, main message, composition, layout, lines and shapes

1) Fold the paper in half
2) Draw and cut off the nose (half a triangle)
3) Fold the paper again in half
4) Draw and cut off the eyes (half a circle)
