Spring is in full swing with our botanical illustration project. We are going to continue the practice of basic shapes and shading by illustrating tropical plants. We are also getting ready to celebrate Haitian Heritage Month by using basic shapes and primary colors to imitate popular Haitian Painting Styles.

How can you use illustrations for references?
A botanical illustrator is a person who paints, sketches or otherwise illustrates botanical subjects. Typical illustrations are in watercolor, but may also be in oils, ink or pencil, or a combination of these.
